Ron Zacapa Centenario XO Solera Reserva Especial is created using the unique Sistema Solera technique, a maturation process that combines rums from different vintages and characters in order to store them in different oak barrels. The barrels were previously used in the production of robust American whiskey, sweet sherry and high quality wine made from the Pedro Ximénez grape. The final maturation of Ron Zacapa XO takes place in French oak barrels, in which the cognac was previously stored. Using this method, a distillate is created from rums aged between 6 and 25 years.
