Richebourg Grand Cru 2014
The 2014 Richebourg Grand Cru was picked on September 20 and 21 at 29.75 hectoliters per hectare. This has a gorgeous, flamboyant, vivacious bouquet with red cherry blossoms, crushed strawberries, less undergrowth flavors from the cask presentation, replaced by hints of pressed rose petals. There is a wonderful delineation and exuberance here. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp, spicy, white pepper-tinged entry, just a faint hint of black truffle that tints the dark berries. There's superb spine and density here, a Richebourg that delivers on barrel, and it's armed with an extraordinarily long aftertaste that conjures up images of the sea, something wild and estuary.
"Alcohol is harmful to health, to be enjoyed in moderation."
