The 2014 Corton Grand Cru was picked on September 16 at 25 hectoliters per hectare. It has a bewitching nose with a beautiful lift and transparency of Morello cherries, crushed strawberries, a touch of orange blossom, well-defined aromas. The palate is well balanced with a bit of chalk on the attack. It is full of quite fiery tart red fruits, a little spicier than previous vintages. The finish is elegant and refined, not as complex as I think the 2015 Corton will eventually become, but there is wonderful harmony and minerality in situ. One of the most "airy" Cortons on the estate.
