The 2004 Haut-Brion with a dark plum/ruby color has a noble, discreet and smoky nose, revealing notes of plum liqueur, blackcurrant, sweet cherry and subtle earth. In addition to its aromatic complexity, this medium-bodied effort reveals classic elegance and delicacy as well as sweet fruit on the palate and a long finish. Give this refined, civilized wine 2-4 years in bottle and drink it over the next 20-25 years. It is surprisingly similar to the 1999 from Haut-Brion.
