Chateau Palmer 2015
Bottled relatively late in mid-September 2017, the 2015 Palmer is a blend of 44% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon with a small portion of Petit Verdot. Medium to deep purple garnet in color, it offers vibrant red currants, black cherries, wild blueberries, earth and mineral characteristics to start with floral notes of violets and dried roses slowly unfolding, as well as layers of compelling baker's chocolate and fragrant earth. Medium to full-bodied, generously fruity and possessing firm but very, very fine tannins and stunning maturity, the multi-faceted palate presents something of a leap in terms of freshness, while it is deliciously earthy in finish with some mineral notes. Very classy, elegant and sophisticated, this vintage is downright majestic in its juxtaposition between composure and audacity.
"Alcohol is harmful to health, to be enjoyed in moderation."
