Three Wood Auchentoshan
Sweet, subtle and light, despite 43% alcohol, this is how Lowland single malts are often described. The equally subtle aromas of hay, grass or grain underline this characteristic.
Experts attribute this independent style to two factors. First, Lowland malts are typically not double, but triple distilled, allowing for a purer expression of their subtlety. In addition, due to the milder climate, the long process of maturation in barrels is distributed in a more homogeneous way, thanks to the lower thermal amplitudes.
The Auchentoshan Three Wood has a unique complexity due to the use of three types of cask: American bourbon barrel, Spanish oloroso sherry and pedro ximenez. The Three Wood, are old casks, the last two of which add enormous depth and complexity to Auchentoshan's sweet Lowland whisky.
"Alcohol is harmful to health, to be enjoyed in moderation."
