Château Margaux 2009
A brilliant offering from the Mentzelopoulos family, again their talented manager, Paul Pontallier, produced an exceptionally concentrated and powerful 2009 Chateau Margaux made from 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest mainly Merlot with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Little Verdot. As with most Médocs, the alcohol is actually lower here (a modest 13.3%) than most of its siblings. Generous blueberry, cassis and acacia flowers as well as notes of charcoal and undergrowth almost Burgundian in their complexity follow a wine with soft and well-integrated tannins as well as a certain ethereal lightness despite the overall size. some wine. Rich, round, generous and exceptionally approachable for such a young Margaux.
"Alcohol is harmful to health, to be enjoyed in moderation."
